Scarce Dunham & Yallop Goldsmiths Norwich Halfpenny 1811

Scarce Dunham & Yallop’s Norwich (Norfolk) copper halfpenny token dated 1811. Obverse: The figure of Hope standing in flowing drapes with her right hand resting on an anchor and her left holding a shield on which is: “DUNHAM & YALLOP GOLDSMITHS NORWICH.”. Reverse: Arms of the City of Norwich consisting of a triple-towered castle and lion surmounted by the crest of the Prince of Wales, above a banner reading: “RELIEF IN DISTRESS”. Legend: “REGENCY 1811”. Centre grained edge (\\\\\). Dunham & Yallop were goldsmiths and jewellers with a business in the Market Place, Norwich. Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' "British Copper Tokens 1811-1820" as "SCARCE". Reasonable collectable condition, see photograph.
